LICENSED CUSTOMS BROKER · R-7/92 · SINCE 1992

Cleared right the first time.

We hold our own customs broker licence, so classification, duty, permissions and filing are done by the same people who move your cargo. Problems get solved before the ship sails, not after it lands.

HOW AN IMPORT CLEARS WITH YAM

We start before the ship arrives.

1 Pre-check Invoice, packing list and product details reviewed before the cargo sails.
2 Classify & permit HS code, duty and any licences confirmed. Surprises found now, not at the port.
3 File early Bill of entry filed on ICEGATE in advance, so assessment starts before arrival.
4 Assess & pay Faceless assessment followed up, duty paid online, queries answered the same day.
5 Examine & release Our staff attend any examination, then out of charge is issued.
6 Deliver Delivery order, gate-out and trucking to your door, with every document copied to you.

WHERE SHIPMENTS GET STUCK

The problems we catch before they cost you.

Wrong HS code A heading that looks close can carry a very different duty or need a licence. We classify from the product, not the supplier’s invoice.
Value queries Low invoice values trigger questions and delays. We prepare the supporting proof before customs asks.
Missing BIS or other registrations Many electronics and consumer goods can’t be cleared without them. We check before you ship, not after the container lands.
Trade agreement claims rejected A certificate of origin alone isn’t enough. We make sure your supplier can back the origin claim.
Late filing, rising demurrage Every day at the port costs money. Advance filing means most cargo is assessed before it arrives.
Mismatched documents Invoice, packing list and bill of lading that don’t agree are the most common cause of hold-ups. We reconcile them first.

Customs clearance questions

What does a customs broker do?+

A licensed customs broker files your bill of entry or shipping bill with Indian Customs, works out the correct classification and duty, arranges any permissions the product needs, and follows the shipment until it is released. Only a licensed broker or the importer or exporter themselves can do this.

Can you file the bill of entry before my cargo arrives?+

Yes. Advance filing is our default. Assessment can then start while the ship or flight is still on its way, which cuts days and demurrage.

How long does clearance take?+

When documents are complete and no examination is needed, many shipments are released on the day of arrival. Cargo selected for examination or needing a regulator’s approval takes longer. We tell you upfront if your product is likely to be one of those.

Can you tell me the duty before I place my order?+

Yes. Send us the product details and the invoice or a proforma. A licensed broker will give you the classification and an estimate of the duty within 2 working hours.

Can I use you only for customs clearance?+

Yes. You can bring your own freight forwarder or shipping line, and we will clear the cargo at the India end and hand it over or deliver it as you need.

Send us the invoice. We'll tell you the duty before it ships.
