Bonded warehousing questions

What is a customs bonded warehouse?+

A warehouse licensed by Indian Customs where imported goods can be stored without paying duty. Duty becomes payable only when goods are cleared for use in India. If they are exported instead, no Indian import duty is paid.

How long can goods stay in bond?+

It depends on the type of goods and the warehouse. Extensions are possible in many cases. We check the rules that apply to your goods before they arrive.

Can I clear part of a shipment?+

Yes. That is one of the main reasons to use a bonded warehouse. Each lot is cleared on its own ex-bond bill of entry, with duty paid only on that lot.

Do you have your own bonded warehouse?+

We work with licensed public bonded warehouses and FTWZs at the major ports and handle all the customs filings ourselves, as your licensed broker.

What is MOOWR?+

The Manufacture and Other Operations in Warehouse Regulations under Section 65. They let a licensed facility manufacture with imported inputs while the duty stays deferred.
